Brunch: Pappy's Smokehouse and The Fountain

BRUNCH OF CHAMPIONS. A couple of weeks ago, I went on a double date brunch with my long-time friends at Pappy's Smokehouse, a very famous and popular St. Louis joint for all that is good and barbeque in the world. The waits are usually pretty long even on a Sunday and daily yums sell out by early afternoon. We split the Adam Bomb, so named after the Man vs Food star, was big enough to stuff the four of us. The ribs were so tender and falling off the bone, sweet potato fries oh-so-good, om nom nom. Pappy's Original barbeque sauce is my favourite but Sweet Baby Jane and Spicy are also good. I also tried Hubert's Lemonade for the first time - it reminds me of old-fashioned Coke and other things, with a vintage-y twist and cool bottle design (not my fave flavour to be honest). The dessert at The Fountain on Locust: the menu was overflowing with delicious sugary temptations and I finally gave up and chose the Standing Banana Split and my friend got an orange sherbet with ice cream. Probably gained 10 pounds in one sitting, but worth it.
