CHIFFON AND SILK. It was really windy one day at the mid-beginning of summer (6/22), perfect for dancing in the streets in a well-lined chiffon skirt. You know this is super old because my hair is still pre-dyed. Getting smacked in the face by my necklace as I tried to levitate and be gone with the wind ... priceless. This light skirt was used for darker purposes in high school - my long-term emo phase, orchestra concerts, "clique dress-up day." Oh high school, I can't believe it's only been 3 years.
Looking back, this summer was absolutely crazy and over-booked, but well worth it. From scrawling my last answers during finals to racing back home to filling out primaries and submitting, immediately being hit with a deluge of secondaries and experimentation at work all day every day, finishing off with a mad dash for the MCAT finish line, a WILD trip to Florida, and back to ... California here we come, right back where we started from ... *croons Phantom Planet* This week is for family, for exploring and getting some proper SoCal sun (you know you're from the midwest when you feel like it's FREEZING in San Diego), and for filling out all those secondaries. Peet's coffeehouse and I will become close friends. Speaking of close friends, I'm really happy I met all the goobers in my lab this summer - I learned so much from them and had a blast amidst all the craziness and busy-busy. I'm also grateful for my old pals who have helped me through this summer and kept me sane and laughing. Thanks guys. Truly.
Did I mention that yesterday I flew from the East Coast to the West Coast and slept the entire way? There's still so much to be done work-wise and play-wise in 24x8 hours. Hopefully in a week I'll be sitting on the plane back to St. Louis scribbling "MISCHIEF MANAGED" proudly into my notebook. In the meantime, let the good times roll.
P.S. Gif attack! I want to try cinemagraphs (so cool!) Here's a must-see article and Photoshop tutorial.
Have you read/seen Gone with the Wind? Recommend?

I love the movement of your skirt!! I had Gone with the Wind on DVD for the longest time but I have never opened it to watch it.. granted I bought it for university (such a long time ago) lol.
love the lilac on you - it's beautiful!
That's great that you had a great summer. Nothing can beat the feeling of feeling so accomplished, finished mcat, got some traveling done, visited families. I wish I did half of what you've done haha. You look great (in the wind too!) and thats a really cool gif!
Gorgeous photos, I just adore your tee - super cute! <3

I'm so bad at commenting on all of your wonderful numerous posts, but trust me I've been reading ALL of them. I have been obsessing over your color combos and unique pieces in your outfits! I think this color combination is my favorite. if only i had any purple stuff (I realized the one color I lack is purple for some bizarre reason)...
congrats to the winner! the moving pics are cool! =)
