Walk Every Street Like You're in Paris

Hi lovelies! I am in a great mood today :D I woke up and drafted my personal statement, bounced some ideas and formulated some kind of an introduction. There is still a ton to be done. I did a face mask that Nikki sent me today and it was an interesting first experience. I took some pretty funny pictures too. It was sooo hot today and I was sweating even in this tank top because of my beret and leggings. Whew! Looks like San Diego won't be transitioning into fall very soon!

A while ago I won Kristy's Alainn Bella-sponsored giveaway of $50 store credit (thank you so much!) and I chose this Paris Lace Tank. I thought the Ivory colour was really nice but they ran out of Smalls so I ventured into pink. The pink is a nice substantial pink that is darker than in photos. This tank is covered with such a cute Parisian scene with black glitter, which I'm not a fan of. In the back, the craziness begins - it's longer than the front and entirely black lace. At first I was really intimidated by just wearing a black bra underneath because the strap shows but from a distance it just looks like a strap. I love the backing! If I'm brave on a school day I would wear a nude coloured tank underneath and wear some denim jeans. This look is more appropriate for shopping or going out.

I got the crazy idea last night to wear my torn up floral footless leggings to complement the lace in the back but it turned out quite overwhelming. Fashion is all about breaking rules, right? I did just that. Using a sad attempt to break the mile-long spread of lace, I wore a pair of white Unionbay shorts from junior high. Yes to recycling old clothes and saving money! I realize that the leggings were going to stunt me because they are footless and my cage pumps didn't quite cover the gap, but it's a new look that I tried out, so no severe losses.

For accessories, I found my favourite black beret from my favourite French outfit and proudly topped of this outfit. It is really cute because half of the top is covered with little brass studs - well, what French-inspired item isn't cute? hehe :3 I dug out an old Lancome lipstick (Bijou) of my mom's and it is the perfect French lip that screams "BAM! You've been served by the smize" (ANTM fans rejoice). I was so happy on my Mega-F21 run when I discovered my eternity connector ring - it is one of my favourites and means a lot symbolically to me. While picking out a purse, I considered using a different silver clutch but since the theme is already so bonkers and overboard, I decided to overwhelm the pink and black with my pink and black Chanel dupe purse.

I still have $25 store credit left so I can't wait to see when new items go up or current ones go on sale. I paid $4 shipping so not bad at all. This online boutique is a little expensive for my wallet but they do have a lot of interesting and rare finds. Though I've seen a fellow blogger wear this, I certainly won't have any chance of bumping into someone at school or at the mall with this tank, which makes me a happy panda. I get very upset when I see people wearing clothes I have haha. Terrible reaction to have when 70% of my closet is Forever 21, eh?

I find this red lip very fitting for the Parisian glam look. I will post the FOTD tomorrow along with some silly photos for my first beauty facial mask experience. I hope for some more inspiration tomorrow as I keep drafting my personal statement and for another fulfilling day in the last week of summer vacation.
